Ten New York City council districts, largely in neighborhoods of color, host most affordable and new market-rate housing. The City of Yes zoning reforms aim to bring moderate density citywide, introducing mid-rise buildings. This panel explores the design, cost, and impact of mid-rise housing, highlighting local and national projects, and discussing The State of Housing Design 2023, a new book from the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies that features housing designs, trends, and ideas from around the county, including several New York City projects.
