Cities around the country are working to address racial disparities in housing and to redress the harms of housing discrimination. In doing so, they must navigate complex and evolving legal frameworks, including the US Supreme Court’s interpretation of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and the federal Fair Housing Act. This virtual event will provide an overview of these frameworks for a nonlegal audience, explore how they affect local policymaking, and highlight cities’ approaches to navigating their legal landscapes.
