Families living in emergency shelter or receiving housing subsidies include some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged families living in America. The underlying factors of homelessness are complex and vary as much as the families who find themselves in shelter. The exits from shelter and poverty require an individualized, holistic approach designed to use housing as the platform beneath family stability, health and well-being, education and training, and financial and career management. This event will explore how brain science–informed tools and frameworks and the support of a coach will help a person sort through the chaos that accompanies homelessness and begin planning a pathway to permanent housing and a family-sustaining wage.
