Renter households have been disproportionately harmed by the pandemic’s financial fallout, and this distress was concentrated at the neighborhood level, according to “The Geography of Renter Financial Distress and Housing Insecurity During the Pandemic,” a forthcoming Harvard Joint Center paper being published as part of the Housing Crisis Research Collaborative. In this talk, the authors will discuss the findings and whether emergency rental assistance reached residents in neighborhoods with the greatest needs.
