Family Shelters and Health: Study Findings and Resources

Most residents in the NYC homeless shelter system are families with children. Families living in the shelters are at higher risk of poor health relative to domiciled families, yet little is known about how the experience of living in the shelters affects their health. This event will highlight the findings of a study designed to understand the health impact on families living in the shelters through a questionnaire and follow-up interviews.
