Despite San Diego’s thriving tourism industry and economic growth, the city has its challenges. Rising home prices and stagnant salaries are creating enormous community challenges. Companies cannot afford to pay the workforce the wages they need to live close to work. This program realistically faces the issues while offering creative solutions. Taking population growth, outdated zoning, a strict regulatory environment, and community resistance into account, we hope to provide the tools, knowledge, and connections for developing housing that supports a broader subsection of the community while considering future residents’ needs.
