Across the US, Black, Indigenous, and Latinx people continue to experience high rates of housing insecurity, a reality fueled by a history of discriminatory practices and racist housing policies. And across racial and ethnic lines, wages have not kept up with soaring housing costs.
This event will showcase new research from Urban's Housing Justice Hub and elevate the work and perspectives from other experts in the field, including policymakers, practitioners, organizers, and people with lived experience of housing instability and homelessness. With session topics that span narrative change efforts, decommodification of housing, equity measurement techniques, and emerging tools to help advance housing justice, the event will equip participants with a deeper understanding of current practices and perspectives on housing justice.
