This talk will provide an in-depth look at inclusionary zoning, dispel myths about potential benefits and detriments to providing affordable housing, and show how inclusionary zoning works best as part of a comprehensive local housing strategy. Lisa Sturtevant, president of Lisa Sturtevant & Associates, will use examples from the Washington, DC, region to highlight different approaches to inclusionary zoning, or local planning ordinances that require or provide incentives for developers to build affordable housing as part of developing market-rate housing.
