Housing is fundamental to our everyday experience, access to resources, and life outcomes. I aim to help connect housing to other sectors to help improve access to affordable, quality housing.

Katie Fallon is a principal policy associate in the Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute. She coordinates research and strategy to accelerate innovations in housing access and racial equity.

Before joining Urban, Fallon worked as the director of housing policy at Ohio’s Housing Finance Agency, where she led research and policy development focused on homeowner stability, homelessness, and affordable housing programs. Previously, she worked on developing equitable transportation and health systems at the Rockefeller Foundation. Fallon started her career working on land tenure and housing stability at Nica HOPE, an economic development organization working with the population living in La Chureca a small community located in the city trash dump of Managua, Nicaragua.

Fallon holds a doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she researched racial and spatial inequality. She received her bachelor’s degree in public policy with a concentration in urban affairs from Princeton University.
